One Ugly Mug
Description
Funny story: This glaze combination is the same as what is on my personal favorite mug. However, my mug is solid brown clay where this mug was an experiment with these glazes over twisted white and brown clay. It is an aesthetic I am unlikely to repeat again :)
I find this mug to be hilariously ugly and find joy in that. I know that someone else will too.
There is nothing "wrong" with this mug from a practical or safety standpoint, it is simply an experiment gone awry.
Size: 3.5"H x 3.5" W
Volume: ~16oz
Body: White and brown stoneware twisted together during throwing to create a unique clay fusion.
Design: over top of the twisted clay, I used one of my own glaze combinations. The result is an inconsistent speckled white and a semi-transparent blue/green around the top/interior.
Creation: Each piece is wheel-thrown from durable stoneware clay and hand-shaped into its unique form. They are then painted, carved, and altered one at a time by me. Eventually, the piece is fired over 2300°F to fully solidify the clay. I hand brush on all of my glazes and take a lot of care to ensure quality, durability, and a unique aesthetic throughout the process.
Care: These pieces are microwave, dishwasher, and food safe.
Care
This item is food safe and can be used in the microwave or dishwasher, however hand-washing is always recommended as a best-practice.
