Moose Spoon Rest

Body: Creamy-white stoneware

Size: 5.25”

Design: The moose silhouette is natural (bare) clay surrounded by a gold-dusted black glaze.

Creation: Each spoon rest is hand formed on the potter's wheel. It is then fired at nearly 2000°F to fully solidify the clay.

Once fired, I design and apply a resist in the shape of Idaho-local plants or animals. Then glaze is hand-brushed everywhere except the bottom of the piece. When the resist is removed, it leaves a silhouette, creating a simple aesthetic that preserves the texture and color of the bare clay.

Care: These pieces are microwave, dishwasher, and food safe.
